Upon the death of a person, his or her will is usually submitted to a court, where the Personal Representative (or executor) must show that it was properly executed. Persons "interested in the estate" (for example, those who hope to receive property or creditors) may object to, or "contest," the will's validity, seeking to cause the court to reject it. There are strict time limits for contesting a will. I have represented both Personal Representatives and “interested persons” in will contests in DC and Maryland and can assist you if you find yourself in such a situation.
